G-Shock DW-6900FS Ultraseven X G-Shock X Kubrick special edition

In 2007, the legendary action series From Japan, the Ultraman; specifically Ultra Seven had celebrate it's 40th Anniversary year since the character was first introduced.

On October 13th of the same year, Tsuburaya Production whom the production company for this famous action series announce that they will release a collaboration model with Casio G-Shock Japan as a celebration to this success. Toughness all the way. The pre-order of this model was taken on the same day and the actual model was released to public roughly two weeks after the announcement which was on October 26th.

Ultra Seven 40th Anniversary

DW-6900FS Ultra Seven x G-Shock x Kubrick Special Edition

Tsuburaya Production design the model themselves to every details; from the watch it self to the box that it comes with. They choose to base this collaboration on Casio G-Shock DW-6900 model; the most famous model at that time. Now too though. All was base on a matte red resin band and bezel to mimic the Ultra Seven suit and so the all the line pattern on the suit was also put on the band of the watch. Both on the lower band and the upper band. Then they also include the EL back light of this model to pop up Ultra seven famous silhouettes which we could see when he the man himself transform into the action hero. They partnered up with Casio Japan and produced this model to only 2000 units only and all of it was only released in Japan.

They didn't just end there, a collaboration with another Japan famous figures production company the Medicom Toy had also been made. From here, they produced an action figure of the hero himself; the Ultra Seven and his major opponent at that time; King Joe. Both figures comes from Medicom Toy mini action figures from the Kubrick series. Both of this figures came along with the watch on the same special made box.

Here I include some facts about Ultra Seven & King Joe

KING JOE :

Appearing first in the form of four ships, King Joe was sent by theAlien Pedan as their main weapon to conquer Earth. The four ships first appeared attacking and destroying a submarine as they alerted an SOS to the Ultra Garrison came. Before the Ultra Garrison arrived (along with a mysterious woman in tow, who would soon be revealed to be working for the Pedan Aliens) went onto the harbor, they were too late.The four ships then arrived at a U.N. Embassy, where they soon rejoined to reveal King Joe's true form. Even with hidden gun turrets beneath the embassy, nothing could damage King Joe. Ultraseven soon arrived to do battle with the robot, but King Joe's Pedantic Armor proved to be far more powerful than anticipated, with nothing Ultraseven could do stop him. Soon Ultraseven was pinned to the ground and received crippling palm slams by King Joe until Ultraseven fell seemingly unconscious. However as the robot's back was turned, the hero lunged forward and knocked King Joe down. Incapable of getting back up again, King Joe turned back into the four ships and fled with Ultraseven following it. It was then revealed that the reason for King Joe's attack on the Embassy was due to a scientist whom had found a chemical that is highly reactive with Pedantic Armor, which also explained why the Pedan Aliens have come to Earth as well. King Joe later returned, arriving in Tokyo Bay where it wrecked havoc on local oil tankers. The Ultra Garrison came to the scene, but after nothing seemed to phase him Dan turned into Ultraseven once again. Again King Joe proved his great strength despite Ultraseven's maneuverability. However once the Ultra Garrison loaded the special chemical into a missile launcher, it was fired at King Joe, short-circuiting the robot. King Joe fell in the harbor and self-destructed, its masters' ship arose out of his wreckage only to be destroyed by Seven's Wide Shot.

ULTRA SEVEN :

Ultraseven (ウルトラセブン Urutorasebun^?), sometimes spelled asUltra Seven or Ultra-7, or just Seven (When being referred to by other Ultras) is the third Ultra being to come to Planet Earth (first and only in the spin-offs). He came to our planet after being sent to map the Milky Way, but this planet caught his attention and arrived here, he took the appearance of a brave man and renamed himself as Dan Moroboshi. Ultraseven protected Earth for a long time, but in the end his power was weakening due to the numerous battles he had, he left Earth after his last battle without being able to say good-bye to his team members of the Ultra Garrison. However, at later times he returned to Earth to assist his other brothers-in-arms in catastrophic events, fighting against mighty aliens like Alien Hipporito, Alien Temperor, Yapool andGrozam. He later was revealed to have a son, named Ultraman Zero, who became one of the most skilled Ultras from the Land of Light.

Moving to the detail that they put on this box, it is pretty big. But all spaces had plenty of details that related to the action series and was printed on it. Such a special box. 

On the left side of the box there are some information about King Joe's profile:

When this model was first released, they only sell it at 19,950yen (tax included). However, the price of this model had skyrocket throughout the year due to the few production units. Now it is estimated to be 4 times higher than it's original retail price. Since, I didn't start collecting from that era, I had to buy mine at a price higher than that yet for me it is still worth the bucks!.

G-Shock DW-6900TH Tomoyasu Hotei Guitarythm - G-Shock 30th Anniversary

Today I'll continue for another review from G-Shock collaboration model, which is the

DW-6900HT Tomoyasu Hotei 30th Guitarythm limited edition model

Released in 2012 by Casio G-Shock Japan before G-Shock 30th Anniversary. This is another collaboration model with an artist, a Guitarist named Tomoyasu Hotei; one of the representatives from Japan as a rock scene frontier artist.

This toughness collaboration model used Casio G-Shock the famous three eyed DW-6900 as a base model for this collaboration. The overall look was made monotone all in matte black with lots detailed printed on it. A DW-6900 line is one of the famous model during this era by the way.

Both lower and upper band was has the unique Guitarythm pattern printed on in glossy white. Then, face and side pieces was made from black IP process. However they made the display panel in positive display which for me kinda lost the monotone purpose. Just my opinion. If we switch on the EL backlight, Guitarythm logo will pop up. The same logo was also engraved at the stainless steel backplate of this watch.

Here a little history lesson for guy who didn't know who is this guy Tomoyasu Hotei is. He was born in Gunma prefecture, Japan in February 1962. His amazing talent had lead him into becoming Japan representative in guitarist. After he left his original legendary rock band, BOOWY, he produce his own solo debut album which is the "Guitarythm". After that, he enter another rock band, Kikkawa Koji and COMPLEX, before he stops playing guitar for a while and right after that he restart his interest as a solo artist. His guitar soundtrack such as the "POISON", "Thrill", "Bambina" and other had reach world wide, his talent as a rock guitarist and singer was officially being established. After that, he made a new recording along with a producer and a lyric composer and produce a new album "A Million Hit".

After his guitar performance during Atlanta Olympic opening ceremony, he received another offer from the producer, Quantin Tarantito, a new album was released, that is the "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" that was used in the world wide famous movie, "Kill Bill". I bet most of you guys must had heard his soundtrack before somewhere in your life. This is his live performance of the album soundtrack.

His performance had been shown in 2007 MTV unplugged channel, and he won the Best Music Programme award during, Asian Television Award 2007. All these non-stop great and toughness is what had attract Casio G-Shock to make this collaboration model. Alright, move back the main topic, this model comes in all very unique set. Basically, everything that came along, has guitarythm theme printed on it. I just show you some picture over here and go through a lot more details in my un-boxing video down below.

Yes, this model comes along with a special guitar pick, the material is plastic but the put in lots of detail on it. like the glossy guitarythm pattern on one side and 'G-shock' on the opposite side. This is really is just not a simple watch, They are more to it if you guys really care enough to appreciate the message behind all of it.

G-Shock DW-6900ST Stussy 35th Anniversary collaboration

Hi everyone, I'll be do a short review of this year latest model by Stussy Japan. That model is,

Stussy x G-shock DW-6900 "35th Anniversary"

Start with the first thing that we'll notice at any watch which is the box. Every G-Shock model' box will plays a pretty huge role if the model will be a big hit or not. This year model from Stussy could already tells a few things we need to know about this model. Dark GRAY thats the simplest word to describe this model. All over from the first released Stussy model, all of them will be in black colour. Either matte, matte-dial or glossy, all of them will usually base on a black/dark dw-6900 model or dw-5600vt. 

Although, there are a few like one or two that didn't comes from this 2 basic model such as the Frogman and Jason Stussy which is way more rare and hard to get though.

"Stussy 35th" 

This word was printed on top of the box and on the trunk case inside it. It was printed in glossy gold that stands out from the base color matte black paper box. This model is base in the basic Dw-6900 model, 3230 module. The watch face is matte grey just like it's 25th Anniversary model, same goes with it's matte black band and bezel. On top of the lower band, they printed out Stussy 'world satellite city' list which is also like other previous model except this time it just printed in abbreviations. 

New York = NY.
Los Angeles = LA.
Tokyo = TYO.
London = LDN.
Paris = PAR.

The EL backlight has stussy logo 'SS' popped out when light is switch on and the backplate had stussy double name being engraved on it; so as those city name list. This watch is place in a special matte black Duralumine trunk case (Aluminium + steel ex. Magnesium) with all the "35th Anniversary" words printed on it also in glossy gold.

The upper band has zero printing and the buckle was made by Casio Japan. It's model number is DW-6900ST and it was made by Casio Thailand. They really made this one model as simple as it could get while still able to send the message from this Japan street fashion clothing brand.

This model was released in 24th April only in Japan, and sold out the same day. All units was sold in all Stussy official retailer's store and from their online store.

The price is ¥19,980 (tax included)

Eventhough all of them was sold out right away, their price in re-sellers' market didn't rise that high. Thus, if you guys are still planning to grab one of this, it is very possible. 

What so special during the release is, who ever bought this model from the Official store instead of online shop, they will get a free merchandise from Stussy and that is a mug. We all know everything that these brands produce, their price won't be cheap, hence this mug is really a big deal. It is pretty thick and heavy and comes in a special Stussy matte black paper box with a matte dial Stussy word printed on top of it. I gotta say this isn't just a cheap mug one could get at a normal shop. Everything is included in the video. Enjoy

This model come in a very colorful boxes and the look itself of this model is stunning. You can see the pictures below. This particular model was released in Japan in June 2013. The retail price of this model is 37,000Yen + tax. The market price for this model until now are roughly the same. My pick for GREY or DARK GREY G-Shocks | Top three G-Shock watches at $1000 and at $100 price point!

Hi everyone, this is an extension from my recent released unboxing video for my;

DW-6900X-8BT

It is a vintage piece from the X-TREME line up that came in a titanium or metallic liked finishing for the bezel and band adapter. It is very very cool color way. Not so much for the module though but what else could we expect from a TWENTY YEARS OLD time piece anyway.

After owning this piece, I sorta like fell in love with the color way and I realize that I haven't covered much on grey color G-Shock before as well. One of the reason is of course Casio haven't releasing much model on this color way. Well at least that what the model number told us. Most of dark colored G-Shock watches aren't always black, they're mode towards dark grey side than full black.

We did got a few ones that is actually in grey color way but those are considerably old today and hard to come by at low price. To make it easy for me and for you guys, I'll pick DARK color G-Shock watches instead! 😀

My pick at ANY PRICE POINT G-Shock watches at no order

1.

GRAVITYMASTER 

This would be easiest one to get on the market since it is fairly new and in a so called basic color way. Most basic color piece like this will always be on the market for years to come. This is a great piece for those who just love analog type model. I know there some of you who just didn't like digital for some reason. I like both by the way. 

The main big feature of this piece is its three way type time synchronization and BLUETOOTH capabilities that allow users to store their travel log aka FLIGHT LOG to their smart phone. All basic complications for a G-Shock still included in this piece including the SOLAR Charging and Tough Movement structure. A tough and also rugged looking smartwatch with solar charging built in it. Yes PLEASE. 

This will retails around 1000USD but you can grab this way cheaper from some online sites if you're lucky. Here is a PURCHASE LINK if you're interested.

FROGMAN

This is another awesome looking piece if you're a serious G-Shock watch enthusiast and costs is no issue. This option is almost similar as the gravitymaster except it is a fully DIGITAL watch instead. Being in the DIVER watch category, you guys might had seen this coming as well into this list. I had to add this here due the tough and very rugged looking G-Shock as well. Despite being in a totally different category when compare to the gravitmaster, Casio still able to design this in a way that made it scream 'I am a G-Shock'. 

There are no gimmick when we are talking about G-Shock Frogman except for that two silver screw thingy on the right side of the bezel case. I still can't figure out its function other that to add more tough looking appearance onto the model. Besides, Casio tend to maintain their originality when designing their Frogman line. Those decorative screw had been there since the first Frogman released back in 1993. This very model however has far more advance function when compare to other Frogman of course. 

It comes with three built in sensor, to measure TEMPERATURE, Diving DEPTH and also magnetic COMPASS. It come with an automatic dive timer, surface timer and alos dive log as well. All of which is need for casual dive. This is not a dive computer by the way, just a dive timer. A very tough DIVE TIMER that also have solar charging and 200m water resistance. Some says it could withstand up to 1000m water resistance as well. 

This model will retail about 1000USD as well but some online site could gave you way better offer of course. Here is you PURCHASE LINK as well. I got you covered. 😄

MUDMASTER

The MUDMASTER is the best of both world. It is an analog-digital type of watch. I would originally goes with the Quad sensor Gulfmaster but that might sound a little biased and I can't find any that is dark grey. Most are just literally black for now at least. 

The main big feature for a triple sensor Mudmaster is the overall built in mud resistance and also module protection. All of the button have like 4 O-Ring to block out any form of liquid at all from entering into the watch and hence the 'mud-resist' feature. This guy also comes with a more practical sensor function in it as well which is Thermometer sensor, Barometric sensor and Magnetic compass sensor. All of which is the most lovable feature among G-Shock watch fans. 

I find the Barometer very handy in my daily lifestyle by the way. I use it to predict upcoming weather in my area before I proceed with work. I work outside in an open area which is totally expose to bad weather situation. You might find different use for all those amazing complications that his model has. 

This guy is pretty pricy as well but pretty low when compared to the other model on this list which is about 800USD, Here is a PURCHASE LINK as well at a lower price of course if you're interested in getting one.

NOW we are done with all the big guys, lets have a look on a few model that is cheaper yet still comes with a great feature while at the same time loos or scream G-Shock to anyone who sees it. I'll set the price point for these as low as about 100USD only. Check these fellas out

1.

MUDMAN Military Style

We just jumped from 800USD Mudmaster to less than a hundred bucks Mudman. Yes, they are from the same mud-resistance family. This is one of the early version for a mudman, it is all in digital a lot smaller in size. I used to own one of this before as well but in a different color way and a way more limited edition version of this. For a regular beater watch, this would do just fine. 

This is the closest model that we could get that is dark grey and look very tactical and tough as well. There a bunch more colorway that looks more vibrant or blacker than this but those are pretty limited and hard to get these day. This is one of the most famous model that costs less than a hundred on the market as well. The fir for this piece is pretty good for my skinny wrist so I bet it'll fit you nicely as well however the only issue I got when handling this model is the button. If you look close enough to the photo, you'll that resin button on both sides, these resin parts act a protector for the actual button inside the watch and also to prevent any type liquid or tiny dust from entering inside the watch hence the 'MUD-RESISTANT'. It is a clever idea but this end up resulting in a hard-to-press or operates button sometimes. You'll understand what I mean if you get one. If you don't mind with this issue, this model is definitely a great piece to have for all the functions that this could offer you. 

The big features for this model when compare to other model however besides the mud-resist built it  the dual-illumination type back-lighting. What this does that it allow user to see the LCD display and at the same time view the information on the face plate as well. 

I could explain a lot more but lets save it for later surprise after you got one. This is the PURCHASE LINK of you're interested, get one quick!

2.

DIGITAL SNIPER

I made that name on my own. This model aren't very popular on the market somehow despite being very tactical looking watch. Don't let that fools you though since this is I believe one of the most practical piece that one could get for cheap and get most use of. It didn't have a lot of complications but the one it have is just enough for daily basis such as the quick timer access, the only model that I know of today that have a similar feature as this is the GA-400 series model. Way bigger size than this. 

The main big feature for this very model is that it has VIBRATION ALERT which no other model have. If having a DUAL-EL backlight and auto-light feature still aren't enough to alert you, the vibration feature definitely would. This guy could act a good alarm clock as well and having since the setting could be customize, one could turn off the beeping sound & the flash and just leave the vibration to ON for a more stealthy vibes. 

There a few more colorway of this but this guy actually in grey colored and not dark grey as other model on this list. I'll leave the rest for you to experience on your own. Here is the PURCHASE LINK if you're interested in getting one.

BIG CASE MILITARY

I just have to add an analog & digital model as well on the list and this is the only model that I could below one hundred bucks. Some would hate the blue hand on the face plate and the reason I still add this on the list is that it is on grey colorway. You do have other option as this GA-100 which in a full black colorway. way better looking in my opinion but just to stick with this DARK GREY theme list, I decided to add this guy instead. I use to own one of this before but with a PINK hands instead! 😄

Anyway, this big case model is one of the most popular model that is out there as well if you haven't realize it yet. I did consider the GA-110BBN model but that would costs more than a hundred and eventhough the AW-591BB and GA-700 is also seems like a good at this price point but I'm not big fan of the AW while the GA700 didn't feels tough or as secure as this GA-100 series.

G-Shock DW-6900FS Ultraman series 40th Anniversary

The Ultraman series, actions heroes tv show are really famous amongst us especially ones from the 90's. We like to see how it justify bad monsters and we also imagine as us being being as tough of that interstellar being from another planet. Of course we couldn't be like it, a fiction action heroes but the memories of us trying to be like it is totally real. Our childhood dream as the dream itself is real. I don't know about you guys but me myself are used to be doing those kind of stuff. It is in fact really fun but as I grow up, all those memories seems to fade away, since we all have another distractions and a lot more important life task to think about. These things are inevitable, but for me the distractions aren't. As for me collecting is my new hobby currently especially things that are related to my childhood, I have lots of other stuff and this time I'll talk about my Casio G-Shock wrist watches collections.

I had been collecting G-Shock for a few years already, at first it is just as side hobby until one day I found about that there is a model that is related to one of my childhood memories; The Ultraman. I have talked about another model from Ultraman series in my previous post, but that was specifically on the character Ultraman Seven. This time is on the general topic about them, the model that I'm going to talk about is the

DW-6900FS Ultraman Series 40th Anniversary collaboration model

Again, this model was based on the most famous Casio G-Shock model line-up round model dw-6900, the dw-6900 engine with 1289 module. Pretty old and didn't provide lots of functions like the current model 3230 module engine. But I don't mind that, me personally won't be using any of that special function anyways. I just have them mainly as a collections, time telling and as a fashion accessories. In this collaboration, Casio G-Shock and Tsuburaya Production once again team up together and produce this really great looking time piece design.

Everything was only on a white coloured resin material at first look how ever if you own it by yourself, you'll know that this is isnt just like any other white basic model on the market. This particular model comes in a tint white colour and that means it is slightly grey and not just plain white. Me personally, I like white base colours in general and I found this model is really unique to be put in one of my collections. I got this model from current market recently at a quite high price but it takes to keep our childhood back, so it is fine. Okay, enough of all these nostalgic thoughts. LOL. Moving on.

The box of this model also comes in the same shades of white as the watch band & bezel with some simple printings of 'G-Shock Ultraman Series 40th Anniversary' and some orange-red line pattern which is the same pattern as on the Ultraman body suit. Simple & straight to the point. Next, the face of the watch, all in the same orange shades and have the 'Ultraman 40th Anniv.' words written on top of it and the EL backlight will pops up the image of iconic image of any Ultraman during their transformation process. Which is the top view of them as they grew larger and flying facing towards the screen.

Both of this watch bands has printed designs on. The bottom one have a quick biography of Ultraman. Specifically,

Then the upper band have the iconic orange stripes which is the same as the box and also the same pattern on Ultraman body and have the word 'ウルトラマン' which reads 'ultraman' on it. All is made out from resin base material. The silver stainless steel buckle is made by Casio Japan and the back plate also have the same properties. Looking closer to the back plate, they engraved the "Ultraman 40th. Anniversary" wordings on it.

This model was released with limited production units of 1000 worldwide and was sold only in Japan in a websites by Tsuburaya Productions. The retail price upon it released is just about 13,650¥ (with tax). And as expected this model market will sky rocket up way high from the original price. Last time I checked, it was sold 7 to 8 times higher!. Legendary collaboration model is legendary!. As I mention earlier, I also got mine at roughly the same price as that. I'm gonna take a good care of this model surely.

G-Shock Japan MAY 2017 new released watches | My thoughts

Every beginning of each month, I'll create a special type of content like this for me to share some of my 2 cents towards all that will be incoming in that very month. As for this post, we'll have a look at month of MAY 2017. 

It is pretty late for me to write this article since it is already in JUNE however, I already made a video about it right on time. This blogpost just like an extension for that video contents.

The photo below was taken out from G-Shock Japan official online site. These are all that will be released to the public or this case already had been released. There were more models that was released from outside source but I won't be covering about them in this post. Probably in a separate one.

We are going to get FOUR-TEEN different piece altogether which quiet a lot to cover. Luckily I already made a special video giving my first thoughts and opinions on each models, Check this one out.

"mind blown released of 2017" - GHF 2017

I already thought that the Gravitymaster line can't go any further as much as it already is, now Casio gives us this. Casio really has an innovative design and technology team I believe. Only if I could just meet or work with them someday..

Lets proceed to the last piece from the list which is a collaboration model for the month. STASH x G-SHOCK. To be really honest with all of you, I didn't know much about this new york graffiti artist. I only learned about him after Casio made this released. I'm pretty sure I could google him up and knows all I need right away but all that matter now is that he is a graffiti artist and he is great at it.

I really appreciate it when Casio or an artists made something like to be released for the fans to enjoy. All the tiny details really proves all the efforts that Casio and Stash had put in the making of this piece. As a G-Shock enthusiast, this released is a must have for serious collectors worldwide.
